We raised over $1,000 for the youth choir trip at our church when we auctioned off a weekend at the Stonehouse Bed & Breakfast in Cottonwood Falls. Here's our group & a few pics.

PRISON VISIT

I want to use this blog to post "Things I Have Learned". Hubby visited the El Dorado Correctional Facility with a team of pastors. This is where the Carr brothers (Jonathan & Reginald) are housed. They murdered 5 young men and women from Augusta and Wichita, shortly after our arrival here. Also housed at ECF is BTK (Dennis Rader).

Did you know there is no air conditioning for the prisoners? For some of them breakfast begins at 4 am and the final dinner bell can be as early as 2 pm?

You all prob know about the sexual predator websites but have you checked this one out? It shows persons currently in the systen.

Easter 2006

We celebrated Easter 2006 on Palm Sunday since all the fam was home. It was a special day at church and at home. 3 of our kids sang in the Easter cantata led by our theatrical choir director, Ron. I led 30-40 children carrying palm branches into the sanctuary. For the first time ever, we had T-Bones steaks; grilled and marinated by the men. Of course, we had to top everything off with a trip to Starbucks.
